About Our Products
The HeatBlocker exterior solar window skylight shades and covers have been offered successfully on line since 2002. This is the original HeatBlocker and not some copy cat trying to duplicate our products. Each shade is constructed of the best possible materials available on the market today. The main mesh solar material is a flame retardant vinyl coated wire and is mildew resistant. There is no stretch in the solar material. Only the best threads are used in stitching and the stitch has been carefully developed over a period of years for optimum longevity. The marine grade shock bungee cord system is sewn into the outer perimeter of the cover and will stretch out over the skylight and skylight frame to grip onto the frame and hold the cover in place. You do not need to tie off the bungee like some other types of covers as it is continuous. You do not need any tools to install the HeatBlocker. Just put the HeatBlocker on the skylight the same way you would put a fitted bedsheet on a mattress. You do not need to worry about high winds blowing the HeatBlocker off of your skylight since the solar material is mesh allowing the wind to run through the mesh. Of course, we cannot guarantee the covers will stay on the skylight during a direct hit in a hurricane or tornado just as you cannot guarantee the skylight will stay unaffected but many of our customer live in hurricane and tornado areas. One customer reported to us their skylight blew off in a hurricane and was found in the neighbor's swimming pool with the HeatBlocker still attached.
We make skylight shades and covers for both residential and commercial skylights.
Our product comes in 2 material blocks and 2 colors. The 80% material blocks up to 75% of the heat from the rays of the sun, up to 75% UV and reduces glare. See our standard dome skylight shades in the catalog for standard sizes. If you have a different size you will need to order our non standard dome skylight shades. Enter the number of skylight shades you want to order and add to cart.
Prices on custom non standard product on our website are listed in price per square foot. First you need to identify the shape of the skylight you have by looking at the product pictures in the catalog. When on the page that resembles your skylight look at the drawings with illustrations on how to measure your skylight. Measure your skylight - measurements must be precise. Select which block you want (80% or 90%) and which color (dark brown or light gray). Enter your measurements into the to corresponding measurement fields using decimal for fractions (.25, .5, .75). Enter how many shades you want to order in the quantity. Click on calculate price. When your measurements are entered the square footage of your skylight is calculated and the price per square foot is then listed for the item. The larger the item the lower the price per square foot. When you add the item to the shopping cart the price will be extended (square footage x price per square foot x quantity ordered). Keep in mind precise measurements are necessary to get a good fit so measure carefully and double check your measurement before placing your order.
